Just thinking what a difference a year makes....

Pumpkin Patch 2008

We took the girls to the Shadow Lake pumpkin patch in McCalla last Saturday. The weather was gorgeous!! I really do like this pumpkin patch too. They have the train ride, the hay ride, they have story time where the kids can play games and get their faces painted, plus they have lots of pumpkins!! The two best things though are the fact it was right down the road from our house and that it is a church-run organization with the profits going to their missionaries. They also have a fabulous Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween with candy, bonfires, hot-dogs, and all kinds of fun stuff so we are looking forward to that next week!

McAdory Elementary Fall Festival

Cassidy's school held their annual fall festival Friday night and the girls had a blast! They played games, won prizes, and jumped in the moonwalk. Madison even won a book in the "book walk!" They also both came home with a bag full of candy so needless to say between this and Boo at the Zoo, we are good on candy!

Our House

Well we are officially in our house! We closed the end of September so we have been in for a couple of weeks. I am so happy to finally be in it! It is so nice to be so much closer to work and to Cassidy's school. Not to mention the ballpark and the YMCA. We are still getting settled but that is okay. I just know I cannot wait for Christmas so I can go crazy decorating!

Boo at the Zoo

We took the kids to Boo at the Zoo Sunday night and had a blast! This year's theme is Wizard of Oz, which is what my kids and my sister-in-law's kids are dressed as this year so we just had to go. They had the children's part set up with games, the carousel decorated, plus a haunted hay ride and train ride! They also had little houses set up where the kids could trick-or-treat and let me tell you they came home loaded with some candy! It was well worth the money!

Miss Haunting Belle 2008

Cassidy was in the Miss Haunting Belle beauty pageant at the Bessemer City Hall this past Saturday. She has done a few pageants before and has done well so we thought we would give this one a go. I was definitely rethinking my decision when we got there. There were tables lined up against the walls where these moms had hired make-up/hair people to come and spend the day, putting fake hair, teeth, and eyelashes on these kids. Then to top it off, there were moms in the bathrooms putting fake tanning lotion on their girls to make them look darker! Needless to say we didn't do any of that. Plus my grandmother informed me she would beat me with a stick if I ever did. So my girl got up there and did her thing and walked away with the "prettiest eyes" trophy and first alternate! I was so happy for her. She was excited she got a crown and a trophy so all in all, it was a good day!
