Redneck Girl

Well Cassidy has been bitten by a certain bug that completely skipped me:the hunting one. I am soooo glad my dad never pushed it on me because i just don't feel it. However, Cassidy has gone to the club with him a few times and sat in the shooting houses and has learned to love it. To the utter delight of my dad she shot her first deer last weekend with the 243 he got her last Christmas (remember, it was in my blog last year!), As you can see from the picture, it is hard to see who is the most thrilled: him or her? :o)

I think this is one reason I didn't get bit, I would DIE if someone smeared dead animal blood on me!!!

Here she is with her trophy!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! We spent the morning at Matt's parents' , then the evening at mine. As you can see, Miss Charley is still loving her momma! I really can't wait till next year when she will get to eat with us!!

Does anyone else have an obsession with Gymboree too? I LOVE that store, and have gotten to where I buy the girls a Thanksgiving/Christmas outfit there every year. This is from the Gingerbread man line. As you can see, I can mix and match from young lady to baby!!

Here are the Shores grand kids with their favorite person B.J. (they call him Bubba) When he is around they make every step he does. I have to say though he is pretty crazy about them too!

Gatlinburg 2009

November 6th was mine and Matt's ten year wedding anniversary. Unbelievable. I cannot believe we have been married that long. Of course, I don't remember life before him since we have been together so long. I just know that I am a very lucky woman and thank God everyday for sending this man into my life. He is a great father and wonderful husband and I love him very much! And in case you didn't notice, these girls love him too!!

To celebrate this occasion, we went to the place we honeymooned:Gatlinburg! After talking it over, there was just no way we could not take the girls with us so we all loaded up and we rented a chalet for a long weekend. The chalet was beautiful, as well as the weather!

After stuffing ourselves at the Log Cabin Pancake house, we started the day off just walking around Gatlinburg. We played games, shopped, did Ripley's Mirror Maze, ate at Fanny Farkles, and shopped some more!

We took a break for a minute in this pretty area and decided it would make a nice backdrop!

We had such a great time I told Matt we needed to make this our own little family tradition; just the five of us coming every year for a few days. It was worth every penny!

Who says you can't post Halloween pictures in November?

We had our families over for Halloween this year. I cooked chili, hot dogs, and brots, not too mention enough sweets to last till next year. After getting every body's belly full, we loaded up the kids and took them to our church trunk-or-treat, which is fabulous every year.

Isn't she the cutest??? I got this little ghost outfit at the Kid Market this year and I loved it on her. I can't believe how she is growing! When I bought the 3 month outfit, I just knew it would swallow her whole!

Here are Pocahontas, Snow White, and my little monkey!

Busy at the Georges!

I have been horrible about updating my blog but things have been crazy! Besides being busy with 3 kids (4 counting Matt) we have had sooooooooo much going on! Besides school, Cassidy is cheering for McAdory, she and Madison are both playing fall ball, and, oh yeah, a newborn! I am back to work so it seems like there is never enough hours in the day for anything. Oh well! I have included a few pictures and instead of trying to catch up, I will just move on! I will update again soon!

Heartbroken!!

That's the only way to describe me last weekend. Madison was in her room playing and Cassidy was in her room playing her Wii. Matt had been at the ballpark till midnight the night before so I wanted to let him sleep in a little late so I asked Cassidy to come watch Bolt with Madison while I took a 15 minute shower. This was not the first time I had asked her to do this so she said sure and I didn't think anything of it. Ten minutes into my shower Cassidy came barrelling into the bathroom screaming "Madison cut her hair!!" I grabbed a towel and ran as fast as I could to her bedroom, where she was sitting on her bed crying, all her pretty curls laying in the floor. I literally screamed like a wild woman, woke Matt up who came running into the bedroom to see what was going on, and started crying hysterically. I was crying so hard, Matt thought Madison had cut a body part off. I was inconsolable. I was so upset, Madison and Cassidy got upset, which upset me more! Anyways after I calmed down, I was just thankful she didn't cut herself for one thing and then I was also happy she didn't cut the front of her hair. All in all she actually did a decent job, we didn't even have to have it shaped up. I am really going to miss those curls!

This picture was just to show how long her hair had gotten.
This is it now (FYI the can is empty. She thinks she is a big girl when she holds it)

Nebraska

Back at the beginning of June, Matt and the girls took a road trip with his parents and sister and her kids to Nebraska to visit his mom's family. They stayed at the lake/man made ocean up there and had a good time. The weather was pretty chilly so the water was cold, but my girls could care less how cold it is, they just want to be in it. They had fun spending their days riding their bicycles, playing with all the kids (his mom has 5 brothers and sisters who all have kids and grandkids) and spending the day at the lake. I spent my week here at home missing them so needless to say I was very happy when they got back!!!

BJ's Graduation

BJ graduated from Huntington College last Saturday and we are so proud of him! The family loaded up and drove to Montgomery for the ceremony. Afterwards my dad took us all to eat at Outback. It was a wonderful night and you can see in the picture how much the girls love their bubba!

Play Ball and Baby Update!

It is my favorite time of year; Ball Season! Cassidy is playing in the darling league this year in McCalla and Matt is coaching her again. After having a rocky start (they were in last place after the first 4 games) they are making a comeback and are currently tied for 2nd! The girls played really good last night and beat the #1 team so it is getting really excited. I have been a horrible mother and this is really the only picture I have taken so far. I get so caught up in the games I forget all about taking pictures! I will do better Saturday and try to get more uploaded.

On another note Charley Brooke is doing fabulous! I went for my 22 week check-up yesterday and everything was really good. Blood pressure was 110/80 and her heart rate was 158 bpm. They also had the results on my protein test and anything above 300 is bad and my numbers were at 170 so that was very comforting as well. I go back June 4 for the yucky glucose test so please say a prayer that I pass it so I don't have to do the full day one! I will update again soon!

Easter 2009

The girls had a really good Easter this year. The Easter Bunny did not go as crazy this year as he did last year, but they were very happy with their new movies, candy, games, and dolls. Normally we split the time between Matt's parents' and mine, but my mom was sick this year, and Matt's parent's are renovating their house, so they came to our house. We ate a great Easter lunch then spent a good hour and a half hunting eggs.

Kristen's 6th Birthday Party

My niece Kristen turned 6 on April 23, but between ball and everything else going on, we had to wait to celebrate till this past Sunday afternoon. It was a gorgeous day so we ordered pizza and headed to North Highland's Park in Hueytown to celebrate. The kids had a good time and it was nice being able to let them loose and not worry about anything! The kids had pizza, cake, chips, pulled the strings on the pinata to get a ton of candy, plus Kristen racked up on a lot of fun gifts. All in all a great day!

Baby Update!

Matt and I went this morning and found out baby #3 is a girl! I can't believe I am going to have 3 girls! Matt was so funny, we talked about getting him a tag for his truck that says "Ladies Man." The heartbeat was really good at 148 and Dr. Heaton said my pictures of her heart, kidneys, and brain were some of the prettiest she had seen, which meant everything looks great! My blood pressure was really good again, which was fabulous. I had lost a little bit of weight due to a stomach bug we had this week so she drew some blood and has me doing a 24 hour protein test to make sure everything is okay. All in all it was a good visit and I go back again May 7. I can't believe how fast time is flying by!!!

By the way, I knew I wanted to name the baby Charlie whether it was a boy or girl so her name is going to be Charley Brooke!

Monday, March 30, 2009

Well my baby turned 3 years old today :o( I cannot believe it. It seems like yesterday I was in the hospital delivering her little 4 lb 10oz self. She was so healthy and developed, she never had to stay a second in the NICU, so she became a sensation at the hospital. Nurses, doctors, janitorial staff, cafeteria workers, you name it, they were stopping by my room wanting to see the 4lb cutie everybody was talking about. I'll never forget her being so small, they put a newborn shirt on her bottom and on top and made a onesie out of them! Anyway we celebrated her birthday yesterday at Fun Factory and she had so much fun! Everybody got a kick out of watching her go! Here are a few pics from the special day.....

Cassidy's Gymnastics

Cassidy is taking gymnastics at McCalla Academy of Dance down by our house. Last week they had observation/picture day so it gave the parents a chance to take pictures and watch the kids practice for their recital. Here are a few I took....

This is Cassidy with her 2nd cousin Hannah and her friend Brianna.

On a baby update, I went to the doctor this morning and everything is looking good. I had only gained 2 pounds, which puts me at 2.5 lbs gained so far, and blood pressure looked great. The heartbeat was a healthy 158bpm and I go back April 16th to find out what we are having. I cannot wait!!

Spring Break 2009

Spring Break was last week for Jefferson County schools so I decided to take the week off to be with the girls. We have spent the past two years in Orlando, but this year we decided to save that money and do stuff around here. On Thursday we went to Fun Factory on Morgan Road in Bessemer because for $5 the kids can have open play, and let me tell you, it would have been worth $50! They had so much fun, and basically had everything to themselves so I am definitely going to remember this for the future!
