Baby Update!

I went to the doctor for my pre-natal check-up Tuesday morning, and after a scary morning, everything turned out fine. My appointment was at 8 am so I got there early so I could be one of the first ones back, and sure enough that strategy worked because I was the third person they called back. I was a little nervous about my weigh in because I do not get morning sickness, therefore I am just hungry all the time. Well to my amazement I had only gained .6lbs! Not even a whole pound! So I was happy about that. Then my next worry is my blood pressure. Well it was 128/68, which is fabulous! So the nurse said let's hear that heart beat then you will be on your way. So she lubricated my belly up and put the doppler on there and.....nothing. She told me she was not really good at this because she is usually a receptionist so she went to get the nurse practitioner. The first thing she did was lay me flat because at this point the nurse had my sitting up trying to find it. She takes over the doppler and.....nothing. So now I am starting to get worried. She tells me there is nothing to worry about though, because I had had an ultrasound my first visit so we knew there was a healthy baby growing already. Of course this did nothing to calm my nerves, especially when they went to get the doctor, who practically elevated me on my head and still couldn't find it. So off to ultrasound I go, with tears silently creeping out of the corner of my eyes. Then I have to sit in the waiting room for 25 MINUTES waiting to be called back. Finally this cute little tech comes and gets me and she gets me ready and puts the doppler on my belly and voila! We have a heartbeat! It was very strong at 167. I was so happy I just started bawling my eyes out. She said the baby was very active and the reason they probably couldn't find it was because the baby wouldn't stop moving so that made me feel a lot better! I just hope when I go back next month there won't be anymore drama!! I will post ultrasound pictures soon!

Scrapping

This is for you Mandy!!!

I am not sure where the name came from, but I have been tagged (twice that I know of!) to scrap! The rules of "scrapping" are to first list 10 HONEST things about yourself, then second pass it own to 7 other bloggers who embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap. Sooooo, without further ado....

10. I love this whole blogging thing. As bad as I am about posing my own stuff, I love reading everyone's blogs to catch up with them and see where life has taken them so far.

9. I am so lucky to have a mother and mother-in-law who help me out with the girls as much as they do. I am blessed to never have had to worry about daycare a day in their lives.

8. I believe the Lord sent Matt and I Cassidy to CALM US DOWN. We were newly married and were partying 5 nights out of 7 a week. Four days after celebrating our one year wedding anniversary I found out I was pregnant. And as Tammy reminded me the other day, the only reason I took the test was because I realized I was late and we were getting ready to drink again! The funny thing is, today when I have a glass of wine or a margarita, that is usually all I can handle! (How stupid were we Tammy???)

7. I laugh at inappropriate parts of movies. The only reason I bring this up is because Matt and I went and saw "Taken" Saturday night and there is a part at the beginning where a girl is almost killed and she is such a bad actress, she is crying in Liam Neeson's arms and I am trying to contain myself. My friend Casey is sitting next to me (She and her husband Adam showed up at the same movie) and she starts laughing to. Our husbands kept hushing us.

6. I have joined a Bunko group and am really loving it! I only knew Tammy and Jaime in the group so I have enjoyed meeting the new ladies. I told Matt one night a month I was neither mommy nor wife and that he and the girls would have to fend for themselves for dinner. Of course he has eaten dinner at his mom's house each of those nights.

5. I really enjoy my job. It is so nice to work at a "small" bank. Bryant Bank and the people who work here are great. We all get along and have fun with each other, which is extremely rare these days.

4. I love this time of year because it is almost time for softball to start! The past three years Cassidy has played have been a blast and I can't wait for this year to start.

3. My 2 year-old (almost 3) Madison is literally the funniest person I know. She is sweet, funny, and sassy all rolled into one package. And Lord is she smart. She knows her ABCs and can count to 20. She also has a very large vocabulary, which makes her funny. She uses funny expressions all the time, and the funny thing is, she uses them in the correct format at the appropriate time. Of course she only does this cute stuff at home or in front of Matt's parents or mine. The funniest thing she did recently was walk up to a new girl my brother is dating and asked her "Do you love my Bubba?" Not knowing what to say the girl kind of floundered a bit (with Madison waiting patiently for her answer) then she told the girl "Cause I LOVE my bubba!"

2. Since we are being honest here I guess a big thing right now is that I am 11 weeks pregnant. I know they say to wait till 12 weeks to tell, but I have had a baby to die at 28 weeks so I don't usually go by that anyway. This was a definite unexpected surprise with me getting pregnant on BIRTH CONTROL! The irony is Matt was making an appointment with his doctor to get a referral to a urologist to get his vasectomy done! Oh well!!

1. I am very thankful to God for everything He has given me. I am totally unworthy, but He still saw fit to give me a wonderful husband, two beautiful, healthy daughters, and a new baby on the way. I am thankful for my 5 wonderful nieces and nephews who are growing by the day. I am thankful for wonderful parents and in-laws who are there for us no matter what. And I am thankful for great friends who I may not talk to everyday, but who I know are there if I need them!!

I am tagging Tammy Pickens, Leslie Hinton, Kelly Moore, Kristin Byrd, and Jessica Hall.

Heavy Heart

I have only been blogging for about a year now and really enjoy it. As bad as I am about posting on my own, I never fail to check in on all my friends to see what is going on in their life. Blogs are the only form of communication I have with some of you out there so I treasure reading about what is going on with your and your family. One of the bonuses of reading other people's blogs is seeing who's blogs THEY read and that is one way I have found other people I knew but just not kept in touch with. And it was through this method I have found blogs that are so heartbreaking, I usually have to walk away from my computer to get myself together. It is hard to look at my two beautiful, healthy daughters and know there are people out there who are just praying they have a good day with a very sick child. It makes me realize how much I take for granted. I ask that the Lord help me be a better mother to do all I can to help my daughters be the person He wants them to be and I pray for the strength that if any obstacles come our way we overcome them in His name to glorify him. I also pray for these families that I have listed below and ask those who read my blog to pray for them too.
